It has been thought that The Great Northern Hotel had its name derived from either the railway that passes by or in tribute to the coal company which helped to create the township of Teralba - The Great Northern Colliery.
The first registered Licensee was John Hodges in 1892. The hotel was rebuilt in 1923 to a design that was prepared by renowned Newcastle architects Pender and Porter.
Today the original architecture and beautiful heritage is combined with traditional friendly service.
